Our high-quality scanner makes it easy to create cards using
a variety of media. So let the kids be creative! It helps
to choose a theme, which could be tied to a holiday (snow
scenes or Valentine hearts), seasons, animals, flowers, or
a subject the students are learning in class or at camp.
Media to Use
We have produced beautiful cards from artwork created with
finger paints, crayons, watercolors, markers, construction
paper, yarn, and acrylics. If using
charcoal, spray with a fixative before sending.
Good-quality photographs also work well, such as photos of
sculptures, pottery, or other 3-D items. We can accept photos as digital
files; please contact us for information about photo resolution and sending us your digital files.
Media to Avoid
Items that create a highly irregular surface such as macaroni
or wads of tissue will not lie flat in our scanner and won't
convert well. Also, fabric paints and some metallic markers
will not reproduce well. Light pencil sketches won't show
up; go for bright colors instead. Please note there may be
some color variation between the printed card and the original
artwork.
Other Common Questions
Q: How large can we make our artwork?
A: Standard size is 8 1/2" x 11". If you have oversized
art, we can reproduce it for an extra fee (Call for Quote).
Q: Will I receive my original artwork back?
A: Your artwork will not be returned unless requested. Standard ground shipping charges will apply. If you request that your artwork be returned, KidsKards will return your original artwork after
production is completed. However, we are not responsible for
any damage or loss of original artwork, on the rare possibility
it should occur.
Q: Can we use the same artwork for multiple products?
A: Yes, but please inform us when placing your order
so the artwork can be scanned at the appropriate size. Also,
some products may dictate the orientation of the artwork
(i.e. placemats work best with horizontal artwork).
