Lee Ann Britain Infant Development Center
|
- Janie Foltz, Director - Lee Ann Britain Infant Development
Center
KidsKards was the perfect fundraiser for this center for children
challenged by developmental disabilities including Down syndrome,
muscular dystrophy, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, autism and
others.
By creating art for KidsKards, the children were encouraged
to develop skills in a playful way. Seeing their work printed
on the note cards was inspirational for them, their therapists,
and parents. Plus, each KidsKards carried the message of the
30th anniversary of the Britain Center as a community outreach
program of Shawnee Mission Medical Center in Johnson County,
Kansas.
The staff sold over 100 packages of the Lee Ann Britain Center
note cards within the first week, just by displaying them in the
foyer of the facility. |

Children's Museum of Kansas City
— Marty Porter - President of The Children’s
Museum
Kansas City Chiefs right tackle John Tait joined
fourteen second-graders from the Kansas City School District's
New Stanley
Elementary School in a KidsKards art project at the Children's
Museum of Kansas City to benefit Museum Programming.
The children, along with Tait, created note cards to
be sold at the Kansas Speedway's gift shop. Using multi-media
materials, each child produced artwork using race car themes.
KidsKards and the John Tait Foundation helped create awareness
and promote both the Children's Museum and the Kansas Speedway.
A win-win promotion for all! |

Fremont Education Foundation
|
|
— Nancy Ochi - Fremont
Education Foundation
The Fremont Education Foundation focuses on providing experiences
for our district students that might be beyond the reach
of the normal school budget. We search for ways to assist
the staff with innovative teaching methods, preferably ones
that will encourage student creativity. KidsKards note cards
fit right in to our theme. It allowed us to promote the students
themselves, while raising funds for our various projects.
The flexibility allowed us to create variety packs of cards
from submitted student art, as well as offer the program
to any student who wanted their personal art reproduced.
Our district covers grades K-8, so we elected to offer
two different variety packs. One featured work from grades
K-3,
the other grades 4-8. There was a notable difference in
the maturity of the work produced by each group, thereby
making each assortment attractive to all families. We featured
the variety packs on a color-copied order form, and printed
a personal order form on the back side for individual student
work. Even younger siblings were able to participate! Students
created their own birthday cards to send to their friends.
We were so happy with the proofs that we also ordered additional
quantities of each variety pack shrink wrapped with a cover
card so that we could offer them at school events. Since
we did our fundraiser late in the school year, we promoted
the cards as ideal end-of-the-year teacher gifts and Mother's
Day presents.
The best part is that you can always order more! |

Gainesville Elementary School
- Tracy Griffith, Art Teacher - Gainesville Elementary
For a small school, Gainesville art students are big on ideas!
The entire class wanted their individual artwork turned into
note cards. KidsKards made that request easy to do with its
flexible ordering program.
And because each child's art was represented, parents bought
at least two sets of their student's packaged KidsKards. |

Lynn is a typical parent: busy with a full-time career, she's
also active in her child's school. So when she looked for a
way to raise funds for the pre-school, she wanted something
that would be quick to create and easy to manage.
She found it with KidsKards. Lynn produced over 60 separate designs to be
printed. She created a popular fundraiser that was stress-free
for her and successful for the school. |

St. Vincent's New Hope
- Mary Pomprowitz, Volunteer Coordinator - St. Vincent's New
Hope
St. Vincent New Hope serves children and adults with developmental
disabilities.
Self esteem - it's an important element of any program whether
you're working with children, teens or adults. The adult artists
were so pleased to see their art work displayed on the note
cards. The note cards are successfully being sold at various
gift shops in the Indianapolis area.
